A large proportion of India’s population does not have access to technology; infrastructure and the skills to leverage the digital revolution in the country. Intel in collaboration with non-governmental organisations and academic institutions is trying to fill the gap by providing training under its programme - Learn Easy Steps. It provides basic computer trainings to digital illiterate people. Currently, the course is available in eight languages – English, Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Kannada, Telegu, Marathi and Malayalam. The programme accommodates flexible implementation models, either in formal or informal education settings. Intel provides the content free of charge to governments, NGOs and academic institutions, who manage local implementation.
