Rural Technologies Bank (TeBank)

Skoch Development Foundation has signed an MoU for five years to help a premier government organization under Ministry of Rural Development to create a Rural Technologies Bank (TeBank). The overall goal of TeBank initiative is to enhance the livelihood opportunities for the rural communities, tribal groups, farmers, landless and rural citizens by linking the efforts and optimization of resources of various government and private sector organizations working in this direction. The proposed framework under the concept of the Rural Technology Bank (TeBank) is envisaged to enable the inflow of rural technologies from various global, national and local institutions as well as industry players. The technologies thus received will be evaluated by a group of empanelled experts for their appropriateness for various rural needs. These technologies will be stored (deposited) in state-of-the-art TeBank under various categories and made accessible through a Knowledge Map. The outflow of the technologies will be to various user groups The working model developed by Skoch Development foundation based upon the Skoch repository framework is being used by the owner organization to create a rural Technologies Bank .
